COOKING WITH KIRSTIE - SPICY GREEK MINCE PIE

Ingredients:

1 packet of filo pastry

Juice of 1 lemon

1 packet of spinach (wilted)

1 teaspoon of garlic granules

100g of feta

tablespoon of olive oil

1 diced red onion

500g of lean steak mince

1 teaspoon of cumin

1 teaspoon of chilli powder

1 teaspoon of hot paprika

1 egg (beaten)

sesame seeds

 Method:

✨ combine the spinach, feta, lemon juice and garlic granules a bowl and set to the side

✨ heat the olive oil in a deep frying pan and soften the red onion

✨ add the remaining spices (cumin, chilli powder, hot paprika) and stir and cook for around 2-3 minutes

✨ add the mince and cook through

✨ line a cake tin with baking paper and then add two filo sheets (allow the corners to over hang the tin), a layer of mince, two filo sheets, a layer the spinach filling and repeat until you've used both mixtures

✨ fold the corners in so the top layer is completely covered, you can add an extra sheet of filo if needed

✨ wash with the beaten egg and sprinkle over the sesame seeds, place in the oven at 200' for 15 minutes or until crispy and brown on top
